Kathryn O'Reardon aka O'Rear

Documentary films are a passion that was satisfied with funding for the pilot of, "To Walk a Mile." This is a series she created that enables the viewer to see what it is like to live in an others shoes. It was produced, directed, written and hosted by Kathy. Shot in Kenya East Africa it showcases the lives of tribal Maasai women and the grandson of the founder of Kenya, Lord Delemere.

Kathryn is also an Emmy Award winning Costume Designer who has been working in the motion picture television industry for over 30 years. She has worked with the elite of Hollywood. Sidney Pollack, Martin Scorcese, Robert Redford, John Hughes, Herb Ross, Wes Craven, and Steven Spielberg are just a few of the artist she has collaborated with. Her costumes have helped create characters that have been portrayed by such diverse actors as Brad Pitt, Shirley MacClaine, Colista Flockhart, Kevin Costner, Ralph Fiennes, Mira Sorvino, Richard Attenborough, Gene Hackman, and Jamie Lee Curtis. She has virtually clothed the whos who of the screen actors guild.

As a Costume Designer her responsibilities included designing, fittings, shopping ,and supervising construction of costumes. She contributed to the overall vision of film by working closely with the Director, Actors, Productions Designer , and Cinematographer She formulated and oversaw budgets that were at times in the millions. She also hired and managed her crew with up to 45 plus members. She found space and set up her costume department that might move locations several times during production including to foreign soil. Her organizational skills are exceptional having designed and dressed in period costume over 6000 extras and background players for one production alone.

Her work has been put into contention for an Academy Award nomination. The Los Angeles Times, in reviewing her costume designs for, Quiz Show, used such terms as ..."a triumph,a hit, Ralph Lauren should be the first in line to see."

Other accomplishments of note in the industry are her screen plays. One of her scripts sold to director Rob Reiner, eventually becoming the motion picture, "An American President", starring Michael Douglas.
