The filmmaker's statement...

Kathy O'Reardon: Producer, Director, Co-Writer, Host

Making Documentary films that reveal who we are has become a passion for me. It began with the Pilot of a series, To Walk a Mile, I created that enables the viewer a glimpse into other peoples lives. I was inspired to do this because of my adventures throughout the world. No matter where I went I never met a stranger, always a kindred spirit.

I would see the news reports defining our difference and realized we needed more platforms that show our similarities.

I was further galvanized of its importance by a question I was asked. At the beginning of a screening for the episode, The Massai Women, someone asked me if, the Maasai value human life? The innocent ignorance of that question rocked me to my core.

It is my want to share with others how very similar we are in our wants, needs and beliefs and how the proliferation of that link will unite us all. I want to have my camera help open a door to our common humanity and kindness.

Highlighted on this web site is the Pilot of the, To Walk a Mile, series that showcases a typical American mother when she visits Maasai tribal women in Kenya East Africa. I produced, directed,co-wrote and hosted the show.
