to lights out, join our host Kathy O'Rear as she follows a chosen subject through their daily activities. Experience through her what is is like to wake up in thier home, do their work, share their thoughts,needs,wants and joys.
The structure....

Each episode opens with a literary reference that drives the host to the theme of each subjects life. The "Lord Delemere,"episode begins with a quote form Elsbeth Huxley, "It was nothing to have an Italian Count or an Austrain Baron thrown through your window in the middle of the night." This quote alludes to a wilder era that shaped the legend of Lord Delemere and his family. We are led in a discovery of what is legend and what is fact. Who is the present Lord Delemere and where does he fit in the legend.
The pilot episode...

Features the Maasai tribal women of East Africa. It is introduced with a passage from the Maasai book of prayer, "God grant that we may live in peace." A spiritual people that find contentment in the simplicity of their life. Thus literature, a universal language, acts as a unifying doorway to each subjects life.
